The NY Real Estate Salesperson Exam is administered by the Department of State and consists of 75 multiple-choice questions drawn from all 15 topic areas below. You have 90 minutes to complete the exam and need a score of 70% (53 correct answers) to pass.
The exam is computer-based and offered at testing centers across New York State. Before you can schedule the exam, you must complete the state-required 75-hour salesperson qualifying course from a DOS-approved school.
The most heavily tested areas are License Law, Agency & Ethics, and Real Estate Finance. Start with those topics if you are short on time.
